Esther Simiyu
Esther Simiyu is a resilient 11-year-old Grade Seven student at St. Mary’s Kibabii Girls School. Born on September 5, 2014, Esther comes from a vulnerable, single-parent household, yet she hasn't let her circumstances dim her ambition. Known for her determination and hard work, Esther is a dedicated scholar with a clear vision: becoming a doctor. With the ongoing support of Friends of Watoto, she is currently empowered to focus on her studies and turn her dreams of healing others into a reality.
Anne Nyongesa
Anne Nyongesa is a resilient 17-year-old Form Four student at St. Joseph’s Nalondo Girls Secondary School. As a total orphan, Anne has been raised by her elder sister, who stepped in to provide a home and parental guidance despite significant financial constraints.
While her journey has been marked by hardship, Anne’s education gained stability through the long-term support of Friends of Watoto, who have stood by her since Grade Seven. Today, she is a creative spirit with a deep passion for Fashion and Beauty. Anne dreams of launching a career in the industry, using her eye for design to inspire others and build a bright, independent future.


Debora Machiene
Debora Machiene is a bright and talented 14-year-old Grade Nine student at St. Peters Chemwa Junior School. Despite coming from a vulnerable background, Debora has consistently demonstrated that her circumstances do not define her potential.
Recognized for her brilliance at a young age, Debora has flourished under the mentorship and educational support of Friends of Watoto. She is a driven scholar with a clear, impactful goal: to become an international journalist. Debora aspires to travel the world, telling the stories that matter and providing a platform for those whose voices are often unheard.
Desterio Wafula
Desterio Wafula is a 13-year-old Grade Six learner at St. Peters Chemwa Junior School in Chemwa Village. Growing up in a family facing severe financial instability, Desterio’s path to education was once uncertain, making it a daily struggle to keep up with his school requirements. Since being identified by Friends of Watoto, Desterio has received the vital educational support needed to return his focus to the classroom. This opportunity has completely restored his confidence and reignited his ambition. He is a hardworking student with a noble dream: becoming a doctor to serve his community and change his family's story.

Esther Wangila is a determined 17-year-old Form Three student at St. Peters Chemwa Senior School. Growing up in a large family within a vulnerable community, Esther faced significant barriers to accessing basic education. For a long time, her seat in the classroom was a luxury her family struggled to afford. Refusing to let her circumstances define her future, Esther’s persistence caught the attention of Friends of Watoto. Their intervention has provided the stability she needs to finish her secondary education. Esther is driven by a profound mission: to become a teacher. Having experienced the transformative power of support, she is dedicated to empowering young learners and lifting her community through the gift of education.
